According to legend, Hemingway asked Pete Petiot, the bartender at Harry’s American Bar in Paris to concoct a cocktail that his then wife Mary could not detect on his breath. Pete did as was requested and the Bloody Mary magically did the trick. Hemingway was so thrilled with fooling his wife that he christened the new cocktail “Bloody Mary”. There are several conflicting stories floating around but due to our fondness of all things Hemingway this is the one we choose to pass along.

One thing for sure, Harry’s Bloodies taste like a cocktail, not cocktail sauce!

The original Whodini was created in Seaside, Florida.
